[It would suck if the guy ended up being lactose intolerant after all this, but if he's cool with it, then they can just dive straight into the classic style pizza. Scott could not vouch for any pizzas that are like... completely vegan or whatever. Sounds awful to him.

...Ivan, right? Hope you really are hungry. I think one large pizza between us will be good for now. Maybe start with something classic, like half pepperoni and half cheese. Unless you really want more toppings.

[ Ivan would laugh about it in full honesty. Imagining that humanity endured genetic editing just for the aliens to not be able to get rid of lactose intolerance would be the greatest irony to this strange situation he's found himself in.
He listened avidly, only looking away as he contemplated what flavor a pepperoni would even be. If this was his reaction to what was considered a classic, then it was probably best to agree. ]

But with a small grin, Scott starts leading Ivan to the small pizzeria at the food court. A small thing, really, but decent enough pizza and that's the thing that matters the most to him. He'll even take point in ordering it for them and paying for it, because national duty or whatever.]

[ There was a bit of a delay, of course, Ivan taking in the sights and smells. The pictures and appearance of the already made pizza's captivate him for a couple of moments, followed by a shake of his head and a turn. With a lift of his hand, he steps away from the delicious smell coming from the pizzeria to find a suitable table.
It didn't take him much searching to settle on one with sufficient lighting and a chair on either side, facing one another. This would work. Ivan turned to look in the direction he came from, deciding to remain standing next to the table and wait for now. It wasn't that he thought Scott wouldn't find it if he sat, It just felt like better manners to stand by. ]
[Perhaps he should've just waited with Ivan for the pizza, but Scott just wanted to allow him to take in the entire experience and atmosphere and luckily, it doesn't take too long for their order to come out. Something something catering to their guests, even if he's low ranking, and that the toppings he picked were pretty common, so they probably had something like this in the oven and ready to go.
So, it's just a few minutes before Scott starts walking over to the table that Ivan is standing by, box in his hands and also a couple of Cokes on top because you have to. Part of the experience.]
Cool, this will work. Now, shall we get started?
[Scott really looks too pleased by this for some reason... the grin remaining as he sets the pizza box and the drinks on the table.] Newbie should get first bite.
[ Ivan sits, looking at the coke. His exploration hadn't gotten to soda's yet, finding himself entranced by the appearance of bubbles and the sound it produced. His attention moved to the box. Reaching out, he touched his hand toward the middle of the box to feel the heat and pull away.
With a nod, he reaches to open the box, careful about where the lid flips out. His attention is taken by the appearance of the pizza before them. He saw it while they were standing there, but it was different, now that it was before them. ]
Does it matter which one I grab? Is there an order or way of doing this I should know?
[He sits as well, his attention staying mostly on Ivan. Watching his reactions, and honestly wanting him to have a good time.]
Nah, just grab a slice and eat it. Start at the tip and not the crust though. [Though a sudden thought occurs to him, something that he definitely has to point out.] And you definitely just want to use your hands to eat pizza, only weirdos eat it with a fork.
[They don't talk about those people-- but Scott just nods to the pizza that's waiting for them. Cheese or pepperoni to start with... he thinks either choice will be fine, really, which is why he chose these toppings in the first place. A classic start to his pizza journey.]
[ With a nod, he goes for it. The crust was easier to grab a close with, so he takes a cheese slice and pulls it away from the rest of the pie. His attention remained on the cheese pull for a few seconds before he realized one of the other slices was trying to come with it. Bringing his other hand into play, he pushes the other one back into place while he takes the chosen slice.
Holding it underneath so that it didn't droop and slide away, Ivan follows instructions, turning the tip to his mouth and taking a bite. The first thing he noticed was the temperature. The cheese was well-fired, and thus molten hot in his mouth, given its freshness. Holding the slice down and mildly folding it over, he covers his mouth with the freer hand, his shoulders tight.
After the initial hit, the flavor came through. The acidity of the sauce that almost gave it a spice to it, the creamy cheese with the crust that seemed to be both soft and crispy at the same time. The cheese presented an oiliness to it that seemed to enhance the other flavors.
It was wonderfully unhealthy and would have never been allowed in his idol diet for him, and that's what made him lean into to take another bite. Leaning back, he chews and swallows, relaxing. ]
[He's really going through a journey right now, isn't he? Scott nearly stops midbite as he watches Ivan, not that the other is being over the top with his reactions or anything. It's just this is what he's been wanting to see all this time and he's not so subtle that he can't tell that he's really enjoying this slice. Well, good. He's glad. Mission accomplished and all that, one new person has finally experienced the greatness of pizza.
He's so proud, sniff. Okay, he's not that dramatic about it, though there's no denying the grin on his face as Ivan continues to bite into gooey cheese and sauce. It's undoubtedly messy, especially since he's eating with just his hands, but he wouldn't have it any other way for him. Be gross, be free!! Liberation through pizza-- okay even he thinks that's a bit far.]
